Are you ready to get your hands on some clay!? Join us for Open Clay Play! You'll be introduced to wheel throwing techniques in a very relaxed atmosphere. After a quick demo, you'll be free to try your hand at making your own clay creations.
The open studio session is 2.5 hours long, the same as a college art studio course. We give you plenty of time to get deep into your clay work. All clay, glaze, and firings are included in the price and we have community tools for everyone to use.
For first time students, your first class will be strictly for wheel throwing. If you want to keep the items you make, you must sign up for a second Saturday class to glaze your new creations. We have a great assortment of glazes for you to adorn your pieces with. This can be very elaborate or super simple. If you like to paint, we use underglazes that are rich and painterly and appreciated by fine ceramic artists.
After you are finished painting/glazing, our team will fire your work for you and it will be ready to pick up the following week. Everything you make will be microwave and dishwasher safe. If you still have time left after glazing your pieces you can sit back down at the wheel and make more!!!
