Wheel Throwing and Beyond Monday daytime class 2-5PM.

Taught by Mark Mohler @sanguineteapots

Class meets every Monday for 8 consecutive weeks.

Week-by-week breakdown:

  • Week 1: Everyone will throw some pots and watch demos. You can expect individual attention during each class. Everyone gets their own bin to hold work in progress that will be used for the duration of the class.
  • Week 2 : You'll trim and finish (add handles, knobs, faces) the pots you threw last week
  • Week 3: The pots you made will have been fired the first time so they'll be ready to glaze. They will be fired and ready to take home week 4
  • Week 4: Your first pots are ready! Now it's back to throwing pots. Ask for demonstrations for anything you want to learn more about!
  • Week 5: Throw-a-thon! It's the last week to make pots on the wheel if you want to be able to take them home at the end of class.
  • Week 6: You'll have plenty of pots to trim and finish. You'll also have the opportunity to do some hand built projects.
  • Week 7: All of the pots you've made will be ready to glaze!
  • Week 8: Potluck! You get to see how well everything turned out and share some snacks with your new friends. Week 8 is also our buffer so if theres still work you need to glaze you can do so.

Bonus: If you enroll for the next session of class you can get back to work on the wheel for weeks 7 and 8!

You will learn to make all the classic pottery forms from mugs to plates to pitchers, we've got you covered. AND all of your finished glazed pieces will be food/microwave/dishwasher safe to enjoy forever!

We have tried and true glaze recipes for you to use and professional guidance from real working production potters in a real live studio setting. Pick our brains, we are here for you.

All clay, glaze and firing included!
