Create a festive holiday keepsake in this joyful, hands-on pottery class! In this workshop, you’ll learn how to build a charming Christmas elf entirely from clay using approachable hand-building techniques.
We’ll begin by forming and hollowing a cone of clay to create the elf’s core structure. From there, you’ll add character and dimension by attaching chunks of clay to shape features like the hat, boots, face, and clothing. You’ll also learn how to craft delightful details such as holly leaves, trims, and textured embellishments to give your elf plenty of personality.
Once your sculpting is complete, you’ll finish your piece with underglaze painting, adding color and festive flair before it heads to the kiln for its final firing.
All materials and tools are provided. No pottery experience needed—just bring your creativity and wear something you don’t mind getting a little messy!
